Facebook user Aroms Emmanuel Aigbehi has taken to his page to share a video of a plantain plantation that was destroyed by cows of Fulani herdsmen and the analysis of the economic consequence of such destruction.
He wrote, EDO State: This is how 10,000 plantain farm looks like after UNKNOWN herdsmen (most probably foreigners from Niger or Chad) devastated it using cows.
Value of farm = N5,000 per plantain plant minimum = N50,000,000.
Value of 100 cows even at N250,000 = N25,000,000.
Only in Nigeria you can use N50 million to feed animals worth N25m in few days. Only to have them move to another farm few days later. Yet the government are encouraging agriculture.
