Swaziland king orders widows to remove their mourning gowns to celebrate his 50th birthday.

Swaziland monarch King Mswati III has ordered widows to immediately remove their mourning gowns so that they can take part in his 50th birthday celebrations.

Swaziland tradition has it that a widow must wear a mourning gown for two years after the death of her husband and then go through a cleansing ceremony.

Acting Ludzidzini governor Lusendvo Fakudze, who is known as the voice of the King, has ordered all widows to remove their mourning gowns with immediate effect.

The King, who rules Swaziland as sub-Saharan Africa's last absolute monarch, celebrates his 50th birthday on Thursday 19 April 2018.

So-called 50/50 Celebrations are planned on that day to mark his birthday and also the 50th anniversary of Swaziland's Independence from Great Britain that falls on 6 September 2018.

According to CGTN, a fashion designer has came up a novel idea to promote environmental awareness and protection and it took the shape of a "dress" made with leaves and 5,888 of it. It happened in China.

Read their report, to promote environmental protection, a model was presented in a uniquely designed dress made from 5,888 red leaves, at the Shampoola scenic area, in Fogang County of Qingyuan City, south China's Guangdong Province on Sunday.

As one of the most symbolic styled autumn pieces, the creative design attracted an overwhelming amount of visitors.

Militants kill one Briton kidnapped in Niger Delta.

BBC is reporting that one of the British hostage kidnapped last month by some militants in Niger Delta has been killed and three others freed according to the Foreign Office (FCO)

Ian Squire was one of four Britons taken by suspected militants on 13 October from the oil-rich Delta area. The British High Commission and Nigerian authorities negotiated the release of Alanna Carson, David Donovan and Shirley Donovan.

The FCO said it had been a "traumatic time" for those involved.

An FCO spokesperson said that Nigerian authorities were investigating the kidnapping, adding: "Our staff will continue to do all we can to support the families."

It is understood the four were taken at last month, when suspected militants stormed a rural community they were living in.

27 person shot dead in a church attack in Texas.

At least 27 people are reportedly dead from the shooting in a Texas church, according to County Commissioner Albert Gamez Jr.

A shooter opened fire at a church in Texas Sunday morning, leaving at least 27 people shot dead  including the gunman.

President Trump tweeted that he's monitoring the Texas situation from Japan. He also sent his thoughts and prayers to the people of Sutherland Springs.

Police and paramedics responded to First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, TX around late morning Sunday on word of an active shooter at the premises. Law enforcement sources confirm to TMZ there are multiple deaths.

Blame Lady Liberty. Popular television star Wendy William faints on live T.V.

Popular American day time TV hostess and show producer Wendy Williams fainted in the middle of her show Tuesday morning ... and it happened live on the air.

Wendy was dressed up as the Statue of Liberty for her show, but her Halloween costume got the best of her about 48 minutes into the show. Right in the middle of a sentence ... she stuttered, then got wobbly on her feet before collapsing to the ground.

Wendy's show airs live on the East coast ... so when she passed out, producers quickly cut to black and then a commercial.

When they returned Wendy explained she overheated from her costume. We've learned the fire department responded to the studio. Unclear what her condition is, but she was alright enough to finish the show.

Plane crashed after take off in Ivory Coast.

An aircraft has crashed into the sea off Ivory Coast, shortly after taking off from the international airport of the main city Abidjan, with reports of several dead or injured people.

It was a cargo plane carrying freight for the French army, security sources told local news site Koaci. Reports suggest it was a Ukrainian or Russian turboprop Antonov plane.

It crashed in heavy rain and the wreckage was swept back towards the shore near Port-Bouët.

At least four people were killed, a witness told Reuters news agency.

Other reports suggest that several members of the crew survived.

Daughter of Zambian player who died while his dad was playing in Nigeria laid to rest

You remember that Zambia player who's goal was disallowed during the last world cup qualifier again Nigeria in Awka-Ibom state.  His name is Augustine Mulenga and he lost his daughter while he was playing against Nigeria. Though Zambian officials knew about the death but he was not informed till the end of the match.

Well, the said daughter has been laid to rest according to Zambezi reporters. She was buried on yesterday.

6 persons killed and another 35 injured in a fuel station explosion in Accra, Ghana.

A fuel station has exploded at Atomic junction in Accra the capital of Ghana killing about 6 persons and injuring about 35.

The incident happened at about 7:30pm and it's still going on though rain is falling heavily and ECG has taken power.

The fire was said to have started at a Total Fuel station and extended to another station.

Two huge explosions sent a giant fireball high into the sky above the city at around 7.30pm on Saturday. Scores of people ran from the scene.

One hand delivery man melt hearts in China.

32-year-old delivery man Zhou Zhengzhong lost his right hand at 11, but he didn’t give up on himself because of his physical imperfection. To make a living, Mr. Zhou started to work as a delivery man in February and delivering food to people in the business district of southwest China’s Chongqing.

Carrying a basket full of food with his right arm, Mr. Zhou walks nearly 40,000 steps and 15 kilometers every day to bring food to people’s front door.

Within seven months of starting this walking-intensive job, Mr. Zhou has worn out three sneakers.

Mr. Zhou’s story went viral lately with netizens praising him for his strong mind and tireless spirit. “Thumbs up for your tough mind,” wrote user @ttbld on Chinese social media Weibo.

20 concert goers killed and over 100 injured in a Las Vegas shooting.

A gunman in the U.S. city of Las Vegas has opened fire in a hotel Sunday night at a concert outside, sending thousands of people fleeing for their dear lives.

At least 20 people were killed and more than 100 others injured, hospital officials said. The SWAT officials are said to be on the look out for the attackers. The shooting happened near the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

Video posted online showed the country singer Jason Aldean performing outside the hotel at Route 91 Harvest, a country music festival, interrupted by the sound of automatic gunfire.

The music stopped, and concertgoers ducked for cover. “Get down,” one shouted. “Stay down,” screamed another.

Several SWAT teams were sent to the hotel immediately after the first reports of the shooting at 10:08 p.m., and officers reported being pinned down by gunfire, according to emergency radio traffic. Shortly before midnight the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that “one suspect is down,” and soon thereafter the police said they did not believe there were any more active gunmen.

Over 761 persons injured in Spain by police as Catalonias vote for independence.

Catalan emergency officials say 761 people have been injured as police used force to try to block voting in Catalonia's independence referendum.

The Spanish government had pledged to stop a poll that was declared illegal by the country's constitutional court.

Police officers prevented some people from voting, and seized ballot papers and boxes at polling stations.

In the regional capital Barcelona, police used batons and fired rubber bullets during pro-referendum protests.

Speaking soon after the polls closed at 20:00 local time (18:00 GMT), Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said Catalans had been fooled into taking part in an illegal vote.

People are fleeing Bamenda Anglophone Cameroun after military invasion.

There has been some tension between the Anglophone and Francophone parts of Cameroun and has led to the English speaking parts wanting to have a separate country of their own.

The central government is not taking it lightly and is fighting the southern part of the country, which is in the forefront of the agitation. In time past, internet connection has been removed and restored. Some of their elders and leaders have also been held in prisons across the nation.

Recently, some sort of crisis has erupted there and people are leaving that part of the country to avoid the wrath of the the military which they alleged has invaded some of their cities killing innocent people.


A popular Anglophone Cameroonian blogger and musician based in New York Maybelle Boma has been in the forefront fighting for her people on social media and she said that people are leaving Bamenda which is a popular city in the south as a result of the crisis.

She wrote,  Lord have your way!! People leaving  Bamenda  earlier today for Mbouda. Abba father take control. I say no to GENOCIDE !!

Amazing! See the new professional Rwandan police force.

Saw this online and was literally blown away. I know this is not my line but i can't help but share it as it shows how things should be done especially in Africa and Nigeria where police are almost handicapped.

Rwanda is a country that fought a bitter civil at the tail end of last century. The Tutsi and Hutu almost killed themselves just for nothing. After the war, they dusted themselves up and went about the rebuilding of their nation. Years later, one social commentator i read said that Rwanda has succeeded in building a country every black man should be proud of.

So when i saw this, i say i must share it with you guys to serve as an inspiration that after all there's hope for a black man. Rwanda is a shining example of what we can achieve if we really want to.

11 persons killed in a military plane crashed in DRC.

Authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) say 12 people have died after a military cargo aircraft crashed shortly after taking off from the capital Kinshasa.

Lambert Mende, a government spokesperson, confirmed the reports of the crash on Saturday of the Antonov cargo plane after take-off from Kinshasa's Ndjili International Airport, based on reports from airport officials.

"I confirm that a military aircraft crashed this morning," Crispin Atama Tabe, DRC's defence minister, said. "All 12 members of the crew died."

Local news media reported initially that at least 10 people were on the plane bound for Bukavu in DRC's east when it crashed in Nasilah, about 100 metres from the centre of Kinshasa.

An agent at the DRC's aviation agency confirmed that the plane was an Antonov 12 destined for Bukavu.

"The military cargo plane crashed around 7:30am, a few minutes after taking off from the airport," Georges Tabora, director of Ndjili International Airport, said in a statement.

The aircraft experienced a technical problem shortly after take-off and lost radio contact with the control tower, Tabora said, adding that all crew members aboard died in the incident.

Shocking! See what racist man did to this black boy in Florida.

A white Florida man has knocked out a 12-year-old’s teeth out following an altercation on Wednesday.

Vincent Cerfalo claimed he yelled at the boy and his friends for stopping traffic outside of his house in Port Charlotte, Fla. After a verbal dispute ensued, Cerfalo said the boy and his peers began to surround him.

He claimed he punched 12-year-old Malikai Villatte in self-defense after the boy “touched him.”

A photo posted to Facebook by Villatte’s mother, Brittany Graham, following the incident shows the youngster with a bloody mouth, a gash on his lip and two missing teeth.

“He was screaming at us, cursing at us, calling us the ‘N-word’ and he came down to the middle of his yard, and I was like, ‘Who are you talking to?’ and he said, ‘Come within arm’s reach and I’ll show you who I’m talking to,'” the boy told Fox-4.

“When I realized my teeth were dangling in my mouth it was kind of shocking, I didn’t know what was going on,” the boy continued.

Cerfalo told Fox-4 that he intends to press charges against Villatte for assault.

“They said, ‘You won’t hit us, you won’t hit us,’ and they started to surround me,” he told the local news outlet about the incident.

“He touched me and I lifted my hand out, and I ended up hitting him. It was not my intention to hit anybody that hard, it was not my intention to knock teeth out or do harm, or cause any kind of trouble,” Cerfalo said.

Cerfalo has not yet been arrested.

“He’s not going to jail, nothing is happening to him and he’s basically getting away with it right now,” Villatte said.

Graham said she’s frustrated because no arrests were made after her son was attacked. The Charlotte County sheriff released a statement on the progress of the investigation after the photo Graham posted garnered widespread attention and outrage.

“The investigation of the incident included statements of multiple witness, many of whom were present and had varying levels of involvement in the altercation,” Sheriff Bill Prummell said. “The deputies on scene determined one of the juveniles involved was responsible for the altercation. Due to conflicting witness statements, it was determined the best course of action was to send the complete report to the State Attorney’s Office for review.

The reporting deputy further requested the State Attorney approve a summons request for one of the juveniles on a charge of assault.”

Earthquake kills over 100 persons in Mexico

A magnitude-7.1 earthquake has hit central Mexico on Tuesday, killing more than 100 people, leveling buildings and knocking out power to millions.

The quake rattled the country’s capital, Mexico City, and came exactly 32 years after a devastating quake killed an estimated 9,500 people in and around the city in 1985.

See this rare white giraffe spotted for the first time in Kenya.

Saw the news on CNN and i decided to search for news and i was able to get this from National Geographic. A white female and baby giraffe were first spotted on a reserve in Kenya in early August by rangers at the Hirola Conservation Program.

A video they posted on YouTube recently skyrocketed in popularity as viewers marveled over the rarity of seeing the pale animal.

While many have been quick to label the giraffe as albino, it likely suffers from a genetic condition called leucism, which inhibits skin cells from producing pigment but allows other organs, like eyes, to be dark colored.

Albinism, a congenital condition, inhibits the body from producing pigment in all organs, and animals with this condition often have pink eyes.

The condition, while rare, is not unheard of, it was seen last in a giraffe calf at Tanzania’s Tarangire National Park.

22 persons injured in a London train terrorist attack.

 At least 22 people were injured after a bomb detonated on a packed London Underground train during the monring rush hour on Friday in what police are treating as a "terrorist incident".


Witnesses reported seeing passengers covered in blood and with facial burns and hair coming off at Parsons Green station in west London after the explosion on the train.

"At 8:20 this morning at Parsons Green station there was an explosion on a Tube train. We now assess that this was a detonation of an improvised explosive device," police counter-terror chief Mark Rowley said.

Twitter user @Rrigs, who posted pictures of a white bucket smouldering on the train, said: "Explosion on Parsons Green District Line train. Fireball flew down carriage and we just jumped out open door".

The bucket looked like the type used by builders and there appeared to be cables coming out of it. According to Sky News, investigators suspect the device did not fully detonate.

Fire outbreak kills 24 persons in an Islamic school.

A fire outbreak has killed 24 people, mostly teenagers, trapped behind barred windows and a blocked exit in an Islamic school dormitory on the outskirts of Malaysia’s capital, reports metro.co.uk

Firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 5.41am local time and took an hour to put out the blaze, which started on the top floor of the three-story building, Kuala Lumpur police chief Amar Singh said.

He said there were at least 24 bodies, 22 of them boys between 13 and 17, and two teachers.

Mr Singh said 14 other students and four teachers were rescued, with six of them take to hospital in critical condition. ‘We believe (they died of) suffocation…the bodies were totally burnt,’ he said.

The fire broke out near the door of the boys’ dormitory, trapping the victims as it was the only entrance and the windows are grilled, fire department senior official Abu Obaidat Mohamad Saithalimat said. He said the cause was believed to be a short circuit
