Nigeria Wahala! Check out the way Bobrisky is depicted in a fake Dove ad.
Last week or so a new ad by Dove released on Facebook caused a big uproar in Britain with most black people terming it as rasict. The advert which shows a black woman take off her shirt to reveal a white woman was interpreted as rasict albeit in a subtle way by most online users. And social media was furious.
Dove has since pulled the ad and has rendered an apology. In a statement, Dove said the ad "did not represent the diversity of real beauty which is something Dove is passionate about and is core to our beliefs, and it should not have happened... we apologise deeply and sincerely for the offence that it has caused.”
Enough on the Dove and their wahala, why am writting this is to give you a background of what am about to write. I saw this picture online and have not stopped laughing. Nigerians sure know how to make any rave of the moment abroad our own.
I saw this comparison between the Dove ad and Nigerian male Barbie and crossdresser Bobrisky. He was depicted in a series of pictures showing him when he was still dark skin to when he turned lighter.
Anyway, Bobrisky has never been shy to tell anyone that cares to listen that he's a bleaching experts and has not hidden the fact that he has bleached his skin. Anyway, give it to Nigerians to always come up with funny memes of their own.
