A man on popular information sharing website Nairaland has come out to alleged that some of those that came for the flag off of governor of Anambra state Obiano re-election campaign were seen scampering for gala and coke at the end of the rally.
He said that they were promised a certain amount of money but were later short changed. He wrote, "they promised them 5k for attending and later cut it to 1k and a gala and coke".
This one got me thinking, why would anybody attend a political rally simply because he was promised some stipend. Why shouldn't it be that they're attending because they believe in the candidate and what he stand for? We have a lot of growing up to do in this part.
He continued, "i said it earlier before those crowd are mainly party loyalists, political sycophants, civil servants that where forced to attend and mainly Phyno fans that came to watch free show"
We need to get it right in this country or we will never grow as a people.
