28 year old man set to contest governorship election in Bayelsa state

A 28-year old lad, Comrade Goodluck Arab Dighabo has declared his interest to contest the 2019 Bayelsa state governorship election.

Hailed from Okoroba town in Nembe local government area of   the state, Comrade Dighabo made his declaration at Covenant Carwash, Okaka in Yenagoa amidst hundreds of youths who thronged the venue in solidarity for one of their own.

The young aspirant, who is yet to make his political platform known, said he was not in a hurry to join any party that would deny him the ticket at last, noting that arrangement to concretize his candidacy was in top gear.

His confidence to run for the soul of Bayelsa, he said, was hinged on the "not too young to run bill" which is now before the National Assembly.

Declaring his governorship ambition on independent day, according to him, was deliberate, stating that he had come to represent the real independence of Bayelsans.

Dighabo, who is the Vice Chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria Bayelsa state chapter, said he joined the gubernatorial raise to put an end to hopelessness among the youths as occasioned by the misrule of past leaders.

If elected, the young politician promised to run a youth based government that would keep young minds to busy to be engaged in any antisocial activities.

His government, he noted, would mark the end of none payment of salaries and gratuities to workers and pensioners.

If given the mandate, Comrade Dighabo said industrialization and agriculture would form the mainstay of his administration where government would not depend on federal allocation for survival.

The Governor of the Bayelsa Facebook community, Esueya Adolphus, who also graced the occasion, commended the aspirant for his doggedness.

He, however, expressed fear that the youths may not support the aspiration of one of their own because of the politics of financial inducement.

"How many of us will be able to resist the moneybags? My greatest fear is us the youths. How long are we going to carry guns for our fathers? We must learn to love and support ourselves", he said.
