Former Aston Villa and Middlesbrough defender Ugo Ehiogu had died at the age of 44 after collapsing at Tottenham’s training centre on Thursday.
The ex-England international, who was coaching Spurs’ Under-23 side, was given medical treatment on site at the training ground before being taken to hospital by ambulance.
‘It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing Ugo Ehiogu, our Under-21 coach,’ Spurs announced in a statement.
‘Ugo received immediate treatment after suffering a cardiac arrest at the training centre yesterday before being transferred to hospital, where he passed away in the early hours of this morning.’
