A minor accident occurred today at Benue state that involved the convoy of the governor. Governor Samuel Ortom was on his way back from Zaki-Biam this afternoon when the accident happened.
According to reports, an oncoming vehicle, a Toyota Carina skidded off it's lane and hit the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, bus which was on Governor Samuel Ortom's convoy. No life was lost in the incident.
An occupant of the Carina saloon car sustained serious head injuries and was taken to the hospital on the directive of the Governor.
The State NUJ Chairman, Comrade Kris Atsaka who was in the bus sustained minor injuries. The incident occurred at about 4:30pm between Abakwa and Adi in Buruku local government area.
