1 shot dead by the military as protest erupts in Harare following general elections.

Violent protest have erupted today in Harare the Zimbabwe capital following Monday's presidential and parliamentary election in the landlocked south African nation.

The battle for the seat of government is between incumbent Emmerson Mnangagwa and opposition's Nelson Chimasa. In the parliamentary results released so far by the electoral commission, the ruling ZANU-PF is in clear lead following in a distance by opposition MDC.

Meanwhile, following the convergence of people to protest what they perceived as rigging by the ruling party, the army have taken over the streets of Harare with reports that a man has been shot dead and others injured.
