Check out this baby born with his intestines outside of his belly.

A baby boy born with his intestine out of his stomach last week in Kontagora, Niger state, has successfully undergone a surgery to place them back into his body.

A quick search shows that the baby suffered from Gastroschisis ( pronounced gas-troh-skee-sis)   It's a birth defect of the abdominal (belly) wall.

The baby’s intestines are found outside of the baby’s body, exiting through a hole beside the belly button. The hole can be small or large and sometimes other organs, such as the stomach and liver, can also be found outside of the baby’s body

A philanthropist in the state sponsored the operation and the boy is currently recuperating at a specialist hospital in the state.
