Read what a man wrote about a comedian that was recently lynched in Lagos.

I have always said it, jungle justice is never the right thing to do, we should desist from it.

Could it be Ikorodu residents have committed another blunder by lynching Chinedu Paul aka MC Think2ice who many now say is innocent? They may have mistook him and two other of his friends for Badoo cult members on that fateful sunday at 2.am. The insecurity in Ikorodu have turned residents to vigilante. Residents of the area have taken to self help to curb the menace of the Badoo cult group who have persistently killed innocent people in the area while collecting body part of their victims.

It's believed Chinedu and his friends were on their way to tow a vehicle belonging to him which broke down earlier that night somewhere at Odogunyan before they were accosted by vigilantes. The mob had alleged they saw grinding stone, oil and other things believed to be in use by the dreaded badoo cultists in their possession. None of these things they claimed they saw have been put forward as evidence till this moment.

Yours sincerely took a glance at the social media post of Chinedu, with account name ‘Chinedu Paul’ from Abia state. If we're to go by his post alone, then one would agree the Late Mc Chinedu was never a badoo cult member. On several occasions through his post he condemned the activities of the badoo cult group while advising residents to be watchful and vigilant. He had also posted pictures of the victims of the badoo attack, no badoo member to the best of my understanding would do that.

Always branding himself as an Ambassador of Ikorodu, he's one most Nigerian facebooker will tag as ‘Church Boi’ his post mainly base on comedy, gospel shows and church activities. He's  seen in some of his posts anchoring events which give the impression he was an ‘MC’.

In one of his last posts made on saturday afternoon, the Late Chinedu could be seen in a photo with popular OAP, MC and Host of ‘Highlights With IK’ Ikponwosa Osakioduwa and couple of other celebrities in an event tagged ‘The IK Talks’ held at Victoria Island, Lagos.

One may argue that portraying decency or putting up inspirational social media posts are not enough to presume one's innocence and inability to do bad things. while that may be true, it will equally make sense they also know one's negative lifestyle on social media is still never enough to make a person evil or bad.

These guys were only suspected badoo cult members, common sense requires you hand them over to security agents and not lynch them. With the evidence coming up now, these guys may be innocent.  Its true our security system is weak, i agree our judicial arm has been compromised but is jungle justice the right way to go? Must we therefore turn monsters, animals in jungle?

What have we gained if these guys lynched truly turn out innocent tomorrow? The Lagos state government should take the security of lives and property of her people a top priority. Gov. Ambode should be told building of bridges and roads alone is tantamount to nothing if the lives of the people are not secured.

While the Residents of Ikorodu have a genuine cause to wanting to protect themselves, they should also have in mind that chopping one's head off is not the solution to headache. Its a pity the Aluu4 2012 incident still hasn't taught us any lesson.
