5 persons escape death when a car crashed into a house in South Africa.

Five people including a 5 month old baby and a 13 year old girl escaped injury after the vehicle they were travelling in crashed into a house on Umdloti Beach Road Sunday in Verulam

At approximately 07:50 members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the scene by residents in the area. Upon arrival it was established that the occupants of the VW Golf had left their church in Mandini, north of Durban and were returning home to Verulam when an insect jumped onto the steering wheel.

The driver attempted to kill the insect resulting in the vehicle veering off the road, climbing over a fallen tree before crashing into the house. The occupants of the house were not injured however they were under the influence of alcohol and threatened to assault the driver. Other residents intervened and prevented the assault.

The house was extensively damaged in the accident.
