Ward chairman collasped and died at a governorship primary in Anambra state.

The ward chairman of Owerre Ezukala in Oyi local government of Anambra state has collasped and died at the local government primary to pick a candidate for the forthcoming Anambra guber polls.

The deceased who is identified as Maduabukwu Uwakwe was said to have died when their was a fracas in the party primary. According to one of the UPP delegate who narrated the story, he said that problem started when some delegates drafted across the 21 LGAs of the state challenged a compromised delegate list for the election.

Some of the delegates claimed their names were missing from the list which triggered a protest that attracted the men of the Nigeria police who fired teargas to disperse them.

It was then that Uwakwe Mmaduabukwu collapsed immediately and died. All efforts to revive him proved abortive. Many others were reportedly injured.
