Celebration of love: Check out pictures of this couple that been married for 65 years

Read the incredible story of a couple who have been married for....... wait for it. 65 years.    Phew.... what a show of unconditional love. I'll love to be like them when I grow up. It's as reported by Metro U.K.

Oh, so you think your photobooth selfies with your new boyfriend are cute?

They are, probably. But there is no way they are sweet as this photoshoot, celebrating Ruby and Harold’s marriage of 65 years.

This isn’t just a collection of selfies or cutesy kissing pictures. This is a celebration of longterm love, of commitment, of finding a person who makes you smile after decades of being together.

Basically, whichever Instagram-famous couple you think are #couplegoals are nothing in comparison to Ruby and Harold. Sorry.

Ruby and Harold Coleman have been married for 65 years. They have five children, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a whole lot of love between them.

For their 60th anniversary, they went to photographer Meghan Vaughan to commemorate their love.

Meghan found them so inspirational that when it came to the couple’s 65th anniversary, she wanted to photograph them again.

The couple live on a farm, their favourite thing to do together is read the Bible, and they say they still smooch on the regular.

Harold loves to garden, both for himself and Ruby, but also for all the older people in their neighbourhood who can’t garden anymore, plus people they go to church with. He also takes produce to the homeless shelter.

Ruby is a ‘hugger’, often takes charge, and has been a stay-at-home mum for most of her life.

She also has dementia, which has worsened in the last few years.

‘She didn’t remember me or the last time we took pictures together,’ writes photographer Meghan on her blog.

‘When she greeted me at the door, she wrapped me up in a tight hug… just like you would hug family you hadn’t seen in a long time.

‘I told her I was so excited to see her and she said, “Well, I wish I knew why!”

‘I brought her cookies from Mookies. Her face lit up and she said, “Are these all for me?”

‘I said yes and she said, “Well, bye bye family!!”

‘She went back inside and wrote her name on the box. It’s so sad to know that she won’t remember me, her cookies or the wonderful time we had together.

‘But she’ll enjoy looking at the pictures and that’s exactly why I do what I do. They still have a large framed print hanging in their home from our last session together.’

Men burn more calories than women during sex - not that it matters

For the photoshoot, Harold wore a suit he’d bought at a vintage store, and a bowtie he’d owned for 65 years. Ruby wore a dress and a matching beaded jacket.

When asked to give Harold a kiss for the camera, Ruby responded: ‘Haven’t I kissed him enough?’ She went ahead and kissed him anyway.

And that, everyone, is what you call a wonderful relationship.
