Makerere university arrests staff over sexual assault on a foreign student.
Uganda's Makerere University has suspended Dr. Edward Kisuze, a senior administrative assistant in the academic registrar's office over sexual harassment, Uganda's New Vision reports.
Kisuze was this week exposed by a Kenyan female student Racheal Njoroge Njeri, who took pictures while the don was performing oral sex on her.
He has since been arrested. Police said Dr. Kisuze was being held at Wandegeya Police Station.
In a statement on Wednesday, Police said the official was under their custody "over allegations of sexual harassment and being a public nuisance".
Kisuze was this week exposed by a female student, Racheal Njoroge Njeri, while he was allegedly molesting her in his office.
Following the leak, Prof. William Bazeyo, the acting University vice-chancellor, asked Kisuze to submit a written report by April 17, on the allegations against him.
Kisuze was suspended on half pay pending investigations. He was also asked to hand over all university property to the academic registrar.
