5 armed robbery gang caught in Egbelu area of Port-Harcourt, Rivers state.

A 5 men robbery gang comprising of 4 men and a lady was at the early hours of today caught on their way from a robbery operation by some local vigilantes group at Egbelu area of Port-Harcourt in Obio-Akpor of local government of Rivers state.


The group which has been terrorising parts of Eliopranwo and Egbelu were caught at Goodluck avenue Egbelu while coming from a robbery operation. 4 of the gang members were caught through the gallant efforts of the vigilante who gave them a run for their money after an exchange of gunfire.

4 of the armed men were caught and the lady managed to escape. The vigilante gave them the beating of their lives before handing them over to the police.

Items recovered from them include a Toyota Avalon saloon car that they used for the robbery operation and 1 Ak 49 machine gun.
