Eight persons were killed and 18 others injured when a female suicide bomber detonated a bomb during an attempt to enter a mosque in London Ciki area in Jere Local Government Area on the outskirts of Maiduguri, Borno State according to Sahara Reporters.
This was disclosed at a press briefing by Mr. Damian Chukwu, Borno State Police Commissioner. Mr. Chukwu also disclosed that the bomber detonated the explosive device on her body, killing herself.
Police Explosive Ordinance Department officials were deployed to the scene to render it safe for normal activities to continue.
The corpses and the injured persons were evacuated to University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
