Most times we give the Nigerian police very negative reports because of some actions of some of their men. We rarely see some great work some of them are doing to keep us safe. A man took to his Facebook wall to narrate how the police saved his life when his car broke down at night. Read his account.

He has done it for me.
He saved me and rescued me from armed robbers last night while I was returning from the funeral service of my departed inlaw Mrs Nnedi Enemuo.
I was driving home around 9-10pm, around Toyota bus stop beside the popular Ladipo spare parts market, I heard a noise, and felt the car losing control, I listened, it was a bust, a shredded tyre.
I held and navigated the car away from the very dangerous area and towards Charity bus stop at Oshodi, and stopped beside the military barrack.
The car was suffering, and I felt that there has to be some kind of safety to the military zone.
I steered away from the expressway and pulled up. I made a silent prayer, I said "God please, God protect me." Then I felt safe. Then I went to work, running helter-skelter to change the tyre as quickly as I can.
Within 5 minutes of this I was surrounded by 4 hoodlums aged between 35-50 years. There eyes were bloodshot, their breath was a rancid stench of alcohol, weed and cigarette. They looked irritated and volatile. And an attempt at robbery, car snatching, and on my life had started.
As I was acting to them like an idiot, hopefully delaying them, and hoping that something would happen and I am saved, one of them pulled a gun, he did not get a steady aim as I was meandering behind his comrades sort of.... then it happened!
Behind us, a police patrol vehicle pulled up, in commando style they sprang out, each with an Ak47, guns started to crack, shouts, commands, "hol it there," "drop your weapon", "if you move I shoot" etc.... the gang retreated with the speed of practice, took to their heels, and made their way into a hideous path and vanished.
Hallelujah somebody!
Though they later materialised on the other side of the road leading to the airport, watching, unhappy but hovering for any opening that may occur.
But the police stood by me and assisted me all the way, then escorted me to safety..... I told the policemen they were angels sent by God.
That I was sure!
To God I give thanks
Ceecee Chikwendu.
The pictures he took with the policemen.
