Horror: Check out the way this crocodile attack a juvenile elephant in the wild.

Dramatic footage shows a herd of elephants turn on the reptile after it launched an attack on the infant as it drunk from a river in Liwonde National Park in Malawi.

At first it appears as if the crocodile might win in its bid to kill the young elephant as the herd backs away cautiously after it clamped on to its trunk.

Tourists on a nearby boat can be heard gasping as it appears the juvenile might be pulled under by the crocodile.

However, after huddling together, the elephants turn defence into attack by stamping on the crocodile until it lets go of its prey.

The footage was captured by Alexander Makanga, a Malawi-born biomedical scientist now living in the U.K.
