A 22-year-old lady, Christabel Itodo, became the first confirmed case of Lassa Fever casualty recorded in Cross River State, having died from the disease on Monday.
The lady was reportedly married to a soldier based in Calabar before being posted to Maiduguri and then returned to Calabar, when she became ill. This was disclosed by the Chief Medical Director, University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, UCTH, Professor Thomas Agan, yesterday.
